Salem Film Fest Presents: Dawnland
For much of the 20th century, child welfare authorities removed Native American children from their homes to save them from being Indian. In Main, the first official truth and reconciliation commission in the U.S. begins a historic investigation. This film goes behind the scenes as this body grapples with difficult truths, redefines reconciliation and charts a new course for state and tribal relations. A conversation and Q&A with the filmmakers and film subject Dawn Neptune Adams follows the screening. 2018, 86 minutes, directed by Adam Mazo and Ben Pender-Cudlip.
